Commercial Trash Compactor
Bay Disposal & Recycling provides a wide variety of compactors for applications including high volume restaurants, department stores, shopping malls, multi-family residences, high rise apartments, high rise condominiums, high rise office buildings, industrial facilities, and other sites where higher volumes of trash are generated. The three types of compactors are self-contained compactors, stationary compactors and front loading compactors.
Self-Contained Compactors
Self contained compactors are available in a variety of sizes ranging from 15 cubic yards to 34
cubic yards.
These compactors are commonly used for high volume restaurants and commercial establishments where the trash
being handled has the tendency to maintain liquids, such as food. Self contained compactors have a built in
“sump” to hold excess water to prevent it from leaking onto the property beneath. When the compactor is
full, the entire unit is hauled away leaving only the hydraulic unit and power pack. These compactors
require a disconnect box at the compactor location and typically are 3 phase electrical power. Single phase
units are available at an additional cost. The compactors can be built to satisfy a wide variety of needs.
The can be loaded free standing with a totally enclosed and lockable “dog house” around the loading area;
they can be backed up to a loading dock and have hand rails and gates, or they can be fed with a
through-the-wall chute.
If your location requires more than two eight cubic yard containers serviced six days per week, these units can easily be cost justified.
Stationary Compactors
Stationary
compactors are available in a variety of sizes from 2 cubic yards to over 5 ½ cubic yards. These
compactors are typically used for dry, industrial type waste. Bay Disposal & Recycling’s personnel will
conduct a site survey to determine the appropriate compactor size to accommodate the varying masses of
objects to be processed in the compactor. The compaction units are permanently bolted onto a concrete slab
and have a 40 cubic yard receiving container attached. When the unit is full, the container only is hauled
to the disposal site. These compactors require a disconnect box at the compactor location and typically are
3 phase electrical power. The compactors can be built to satisfy a wide variety of needs. They also can be
loaded free standing with a totally enclosed and lockable “dog house” around the loading area; they can be
backed up to a loading dock and have hand rails and gates, or they can be fed with a through-the-wall chute.
Front Loading Compactors
Front loading compactors are typically used at high volume restaurants to satisfy the need of
those
generators who have too much volume for typical front load service but not enough for the larger roll off
compactors. Front loading compactors are especially attractive when parking is at premium and the business
cannot afford to lose additional parking spaces for dumpsters or wants to avoid having numerous containers
in the sight of patrons. These compactors require a disconnect box at the compactor location and typically
are 3 phase electrical power. Single phase units are available at an additional cost. The compactors can be
built to satisfy a very wide variety of needs.
There are also front load compactors for high rise apartment buildings. These compactors require a disconnect box at the compactor location and typically are 3 phase electrical power. Single phase units are available at an additional cost.
Any of these compactor configurations can be designed and engineered to solve almost any waste disposal problem.
