Certified Weights and Certificates of Recycling

As part of the LEED requirements each container must be weighed and assessed for the percentage of recyclable material present. Each container is weighed as it enters the facility.
Any acceptable recycling material tonnage delivered to a recycling facility is certified by official letter from the facility on a monthly schedule. These letters, stating the tonnage recycled during the month, are required for LEED certification.
Construction and Demolition Debris, for purposes of this certification, means materials generally considered to be not water soluble and non-hazardous in nature, including but not limited to steel, glass, brick, concrete, asphalt material, pipe, gypsum, wallboard, and lumber, for the construction or destruction of a structure as part of a construction or demolition project.
