Mike Norris: General Manager Outer Banks Hauling and Peninsula

Mike Norris, General Manager (Outer Banks Hauling), has nearly twenty (20) years experience in waste collection and disposal business in Virginia and eastern North Carolina. He started in the disposal business as a Motor Equipment Operator at the Prince William County Landfill from 1985 to 1988. Mr. Norris then served as Assistant Manager of ABC Disposal Service from 1988 until 1992 where he became experienced with all aspects of the business including developing routes for recycling and refuse removal, repairing and maintaining equipment, as well as training and managing staff.

From 1992 to 1995, Mr. Norris worked with AAA Recycling & Trash Removal while also starting his first company, Globe Environmental Services. Mr. Norris served as the Maintenance Manager and Equipment Operator at The Potomac School from 1995 until 2002.

Mr. Norris started his second company, Outer Banks Hauling, in 2002 and built the company from a one truck bulk waste collection company to a five truck residential and commercial refuse disposal business serving over three counties by 2007. At that time, his vision for the business was aligned with Bay Disposal and they merged together. Mr. Norris is responsible for developing business in northeastern North Carolina, managing the fleet of trucks and the personnel serving the customers. He has been successful in securing recycling franchise agreements in both Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head.
