HEALTH BENEFITS

Bay Disposal provides adequate, cost-effective medical, dental, disability and life insurance protection to its employees. Certain coverage is offered at no cost to the employee, and other coverage is subsidized in part by the Company to keep the employee’s cost to a minimum.
Regular, full-time employees become eligible for coverage under the various insurance plans after successful completion of 90 days of employment. New employees will be notified by the human resource department when they become eligible for coverage under the existing plans.

In addition to the various insurance plans provided by Bay Disposal, the Company provides Worker's Compensation protection which covers employees who sustain work-related (occupational) injury or illness in the office or while traveling or otherwise conducting business on behalf of the Company.

VACATION

Full-time employees become eligible for paid vacation after they have successfully completed one year of employment. Part-time employees are eligible for vacation benefits in proportion to their normal hours worked in a pay period after completing two years of service with Bay Disposal.

Vacation is earned based on the employee’s anniversary date of employment, according to the following:

  • First Anniversary Date of Employment - 1 week
  • Effective with Second Anniversary Date - 2 weeks
  • Effective with Fifth Anniversary Date - 3 weeks

HOLIDAYS

The Company provides six (6) paid holidays for all full-time employees as listed below:

  • NEW YEARS' DAY
  • MEMORIAL DAY
  • INDEPENDENCE DAY
  • LABOR DAY
  • THANKSGIVING DAY
  • CHRISTMAS DAY

Newly-hired full-time employees will be eligible for holiday pay after completing their 90-day waiting period. Full-time employees who work on a holiday will receive regular holiday pay plus pay for all hours worked on the holiday.

BEREAVEMENT LEAVE

Bay Disposal provides up to a maximum of three days paid leave per calendar year in the event of the death of a spouse, child, or parent. The Company may, at its discretion, approve unpaid leave or vacation leave for the death of other family members. All requests must be submitted to your supervisor for approval.
